Bethann Hardison, a former model turned agent and activist, recognized the beauty of Blackness long before it was acknowledged by the world of fashion. This documentary, a collaboration with director Frédéric Tcheng (Halston, Dior and I), showcases Hardison's journey and the sacrifices she made as a trailblazer. Through interviews with industry insiders, discussions on racial diversity, and personal testimonials, it captures Hardison's audacious spirit and provides a rare glimpse into the life of a radical thinker.
All tickets for this screening are general admission and pay-what-you-can.
Followed by a discussion with directors Bethann Hardison and Frédéric Tcheng, and producer Lisa Cortes. The discussion will be moderated by filmmaker Tonya Lewis Lee.
